Why this petition matters

Started by Daniel Meloy

Summary: With the launch of Paramore's official Discord server, the creation of separate groups within this server, and the inside jokes that were created within these individual groups, the sausage / hot dog emoji quickly became an inside joke for general chat two. After it was banned from use, members of general chat two felt as though a petition should be made to highlight the importance of this emoji and to ask for it to be un-banned.

On September 8th, 2022, the band Paramore launched an official Discord server in order to garner attention and discussion towards a potential release of new music. The beginning of this server was pure chaos, due to there only being one chat for the thousands of people flooding into the server. Because of this, three separate chats were made; general chat one, two, and three. These separate chats quickly formed into groups of their own, leading discussions on different topics and even forming inside jokes. This is where the sausage emoji began. @elearor made a reference to the meme "eggs, bacon, grits, SAUSAGE" in general chat two and it quickly became an inside joke. In the beginning of this joke, everyone was replacing Paramore lyrics with the word "sausage". It quickly became the unofficial mascot of general chat two, and soon enough general chat two was invading the other chat channels hourly with the sausage emoji. Unfortunately, the other general chats did not appreciate these invasions, and soon enough the emoji was banned.

Members of general chat two have decided that the best course of action to take in response to this ban is to create a petition due to this being much more than a simple emoji. We feel as though this emoji is a visual representation of the community we have created in general chat two. It is potentially a symbol that will be written on t-shirts and banners of those who attend Paramore concerts as a signal of belonging to this particular group of Paramore fans. As incredibly devout Paramore fans, we truly believe that this is a crucial part of the Parafamily's history as a fanbase, and that reinstating the ability to use this emoji will lead to an even stronger sense of community within general chat two.

DISCLAIMER: for all intensive purposes, this is a joke, although we would actually like the emoji back
