Hello. Im a second year student at UNCP and just like others I was really excited for the drag show! This was something different and new for the school that many were looking forward to. This was a huge step (in the right direction) for the university and for that to be thrown away for their "image" is ridiculous. The show was also canceled without informing students. 

The community is a big part of the university, but all in all We, the students, have to attend the school and for a majority of students to not feel included because of the opinions of the community isn't right. Several UNCP alumni were also going to be performing and Its not right that even after they graduated, they aren't able to express themselves at their alma mater.

This was made to make a difference. It might not result in the decision we want, but at least we aren't backing down and are standing up for what we feel is right.
