Bring Back Sidhu Mossewalla Music to 7-Eleven on 3100 E Plaza Blvd in National City
Bring Back Sidhu Mossewalla Music to 7-Eleven on 3100 E Plaza Blvd in National City
The Issue
7-Eleven located on 3100 East Plaza Blvd in National City has become known for more than just convenience — it’s recognized as a cultural hotspot, where the music of Sidhu Moosewala and other Indian artists brought a unique and energetic atmosphere. This music helped shape a distinct identity for the store, attracting customers who felt connected to the sounds and rhythms that reflect a vibrant and growing part of our community. Recently, 7-Eleven corporate required the store to turn off the store picked music and only play the 7-Eleven Radio. While we understand the desire to promote corporate messaging and deals — which the staff already share directly with the customers — this change has stripped away something meaningful and irreplaceable. The music they played added cultural value, created conversation, and turned routine store visits into something memorable. Customers now regularly express disappointment, saying the store feels less engaging and no longer carries the same cultural energy we looked forward to. This isn’t just about song choices — it’s about recognizing how one store’s initiative brought something new and positive to the community. We ask 7-Eleven corporate to reconsider the policy and allow the store to bring back the music that set them apart in the best way.
