Shady Park is an eatery and music venue located next to Arizona State University in Tempe's downtown entertainment district. It is known for its live music, art, and culture which have been loved by many people. It is not only a place to go for entertainment, it is a place for local artists to perform music and grow the community of art and culture.

Shady Park has been operating under its live music permits since 2015. Recently, a retirement home was built across the street from Shady Park. The residence of this retirement community coordinated an aggressive campaign to shut down live music at Shady Park. 

The Judge in the February trial ruled in the retirement community’s favor and now Shady Park is being forced to cease live music operations. Shady Park will be appealing to a higher court.

If upheld, it is likely that Shady Park will be forced to close its doors for good.

The purpose of this petition is to show the amount of community support that Shady Park has, and to help their trial with the appellate court.

It also shows how many people believe this shutdown to be unfair, given that they did not receive a single warning, citation, or verified complaint about the noise.

This small business has brought a lot of good to Tempe, it would be a shame to watch it go.
