Loneliness and social disconnect in senior citizens impact both their physical and mental health. It can create issues that can cause complications to existing conditions, reinforce unhealthy lifestyles or affect cognition. We wish to minimize this disconnect especially since COVID hit. We want to bring back engagement with the senior citizens as a community service opportunity for our local high schools. Beginning of next school year we hope make our plan of action a reality by reintroducing/expanding our program into community service clubs/ NHS.
