Bring Back Remote Learning Option
Bring Back Remote Learning Option
Everyone has been impacted by the pandemic in various ways. Online learning definitely has its pros and cons. With that said it worked for a lot of students but also put back a lot of students academically. We understand and want to shed light on both perspectives. We would like to discuss bringing back a remote option for students. A lot of students benefited from the online option in the spring quarter of the last school year. Mental health and being in a school setting have been draining for a lot of students this fall. We also want to highlight the drastic rise of cases due to the omicron variant currently present. We as a community have to mitigate the risk of exposure because a lot of students are immuno-compromised or have close family or relatives who are. This online option will also be a great time for the school to edit the current covid protocols in the building. Such as creating a more efficient testing schedule, as well as mandating students to get tested. We also want to potentially look at creating a mutual check-in between a student and a school member at least once a week. From the data from the teen health survey, we noticed a lot of students do not feel they have an adult within the school community to trust and talk too, especially now. This is concerning because we want to make sure each student is accounted for and to be academically successful. If you agree, please sign this petition, so we can talk to our elected members about a plan to better support CRLS students.
