On April 29th, 2022, one of the greatest Math & Science teachers of Third Grade in Aventura City of Excellence School was fired.

Every person who has had the honor of meeting Ms. Silber knows she is not only a passionate and devoted teacher, but an extraordinary human being. She truly cares not only about her students’ academic growth and achievements, but also about the social and emotional growth of her students. Ms. Silber always promoted good manners and respect in her classroom. She encouraged her students to have perseverance. Ms. Silber would tell her students she loves mistakes because mistakes are excellent learning opportunities. She inspired her students daily to ensure their success and fulfill their potential.

Along her career, Ms. Silber has had students with different health, learning, attention, and social-emotional needs. She always promotes a safe, compassionate, and inclusive environment. Ms. Silber encourages her students to have a voice, to be resilient, and to overcome their own challenges.

Ms. Silber’s journey at ACES started as a mom of a Kindergarten student in 2010. She was a substitute teacher for 6 years, an interim teacher for 2 years, a Fourth Grade permanent teacher for 1 year, and a Third Grade permanent teacher for 3 years. Ms. Silber also served as a member of EESAC for 6 years. She has always been admired by her colleagues, her students, and by us, the parents.

Ms. Silber’s termination has had a negative impact on her students. She was not only a teacher, but also a mentor. Ms. Silber has positively influenced every student she has come across in the past 12 years. The students need Ms. Silber to come back to ACES and teach, because she encourages them to be responsible, successful, motivated and brings out the best in them.

I am proud to stand with Anita Jrade Silber.
