The Danbury Public Schools district has decided to use Schoology for the 2022-2023 school year. They decided this instead of continuing with Google Classroom for work and assignments, which teachers and students are already extremely familiar with. 
This new program has caused many problems for students and teachers already this school year. Schoology is much less user-friendly than google classroom and has a plethora of issues that make it harder for students to find and access assignments, submit work, make changes to already submitted work, and has a much less effective way of tracking homework assignments.

For example in Schoology you cannot:
submit an assignment without an attachment, delete an attachment or edit some attachments once they are turned in, and or don't have the option to unsubmit the assignment, you must go into multiple folders to find work and assignments. once work is submitted it will not leave your to-do list until the due date has passed, making it hard to differentiate between what has and has not been turned in.

Why google classroom is the better choice:
students and teachers are already extremely familiar with it, is extremely user-friendly, and has a much simpler look that is easier to navigate. Google Classroom also provides ways to organize work so it is all in one place, you can unsubmit, delete and revise any work you may need. it also has to-do lists and assignments that show up with their due dates so it is easy to keep track of work. among other features like being directly connected to all google apps, google Meet, emails, and other chat options. 

Overall we all agree that Google Classroom is the much better option and with both staff and student support, we hope to get this changed back to an interface we are all comfortable and familiar with.
