Since 2013, Disney progressively got rid of the Canadian French singers, to replace them by the European French versions.

While such choices can be explained and understood for characters like Maui, who was dubbed by Quebec actor Anthony Kavanagh, there is no good reason for the whole Canadian soundtrack to be replaced by the European French version.

The Lion King 2019 proved that Disney Quebec could bring fantastic singing voices, and a horizon of new Quebec singers is emerging, and must get their chance to bring Canadian French dubbings to life. Or else, why even bother in making another dubbing?

Éveline Gélinas and Gabriel Lessard proved that they could sing, in Enchanted (2007) and Frozen (2013). Why couldn't they sing for their own characters in Frozen 2 (2019) as Iduna and Kristoff? Why replacing Gabriel not even with the European French version, but by another European French singer? Why not a Quebec singer?

With the arrival of new Disney movies like "Disenchanted" and "The Little Mermaid (Live-action)", we hope that the original Canadian French singers can reprise their roles for movies like "Disenchanted", and that new Canadian French singers can bring to life the original Quebec lyrics of the songs in "The Little Mermaid".

We wish for Disney to give a chance to Quebec artists and to Quebec audiences to have dubbings made by them and for them. Disney France supervises and makes good dubbings, they can supervise good dubbings for Quebec too, and not enforce their own.
