Bring awareness to the food crisis in southern Madagascar
Why this petition matters

Around 1 million people in Madagascar are currently at risk, and around twenty-thousand are malnourished or starving. The worst drought in Madagascar in 40 years began in June of 2021 and is ongoing, but somehow gaining very little attention by the media. Very few articles have been posted since 2021, and is being treated as old news despite the ongoing crisis. Many people living in these villages make their living off of farming, especially cassava, but with the drought, the soil is not suited for it. They are also getting sick because they are resorting to eating cactus leaves and locusts. What little water they can get ahold of is contaminated. UNICEF is requesting help, but there has still been very little aid.
