The Dresscode in this school has been talked about for years. It's been multiple years of trying to get our school to understand that some of the policies in our dress code make students feel insecure, objectified, and discriminated against. Many of the female students in the school find it biased. To the administration, our shoulders, cleavage, or mid-section are found provocative. The majority of teachers would argue that it is inappropriate to show too much skin. They say they are 'preparing us for the real world' when yes, in some cases this can be true. But, in the 'real world,' we have the option of what we wear. Getting in trouble for distracting a classroom with our bodies is preposterous. This may come across as 'distracting' to the male students. The student body should not be sheltering women and their bodies because men have not been taught to be respectful.
