Bring Affordable Housing & Pedestrian Safety to Atlantic Avenue!

Bring Affordable Housing & Pedestrian Safety to Atlantic Avenue!
Why this petition matters
Rents are at all time high because of the biggest shortage of housing in the history NYC, made worse by COVID related slowdowns of new housing being built.
Councilmember Crystal Hudson has been able to get two 2 local developers to commit to an unprecedented number of truly affordable units for two rezonings on Atlantic Avenue - out of 438 units total, the two options are:
- 110 of these units will be capped at 60% AMI and 88 of those units will be at the Deep Affordability 40% AMI average, or
- 131 of these units will average 60% AMI and 44 of those units will be at the Deep Affordability 40% AMI average.
Either option provides 25% more affordable housing units than required, at a level of affordability much lower than any other private rezoning in NYCs history.
For tenants that qualify based on income restrictions, these units will range from $600-750 for a studio, $750-980 for a 1 bed, $900-1,150 for a 2 bed, and $1,00-1,350 for a 3 bed.
Please sign this petition and show Crystal that you support these rezonings and all the benefits to the local community they've already brought and will continue to bring!
