Connor Roberts started this petition to Brighton Principal Team

Every day hundreds of students pass through the corridors of Brighton, bound for either the Senior Study Centre or their lessons in the various (rundown) wings of the school. With the transference and melding of Year 7 to high school but by the year 2022 this is set to increase tenfold. As each year expands it's cohort there is going to be an increased demand for study space, one which currently cannot be satisfied with the bleak interiors of the Senior Study Centre - which also does not have all of the resources necessary to feed students and their need for information or knowledge.

Enter the library.

The library is a sprawling space filled with knowledge and knowledgeable staff willing and able to help students with whatever they need. The culture and space is vibrant, welcoming, flexible, and most importantly vital. However it is struggling.

With the advent of technology the library has had to adapt to compete and now, with the new principal and team in charge, it is in danger of being closed down. Some may think this is a necessary measure, however my classmates and I do not agree. It has remained a haven for us for so many years and it would be a shame and a tragedy if it were closed. People would lose their jobs and a valuable and integral study and student community space would be lost. By signing this petition we are taking a stand and stating a firm 'No' to the closure of our library, an integral part of our school.
