Pedestrianise Brighton's Laines

Pedestrianise Brighton's Laines
Brighton's Laines are a huge tourist attachment and place that holds many eclectic shops for visitors and locals. Unfortunately the use of the Laines for coffee houses and cafes, and general "A" boards for shop advertising has overwhelmed the pavement. We now have no space for two people to pass, let alone pram use, forcing people to walk in the roads. These roads, such as Trafalgar Street from the main rail station, to Sydney Street, Gardner Street & Bond Street need to be Pedestrianised.
The pavements are too narrow now, and roads such as Kensington Street are already pedestrianised, as well as Sydney and Gardener on Sundays, so we know what they could be like being closed to traffic permanently. As pedestrians we should not be forced into the road to dodge vehicles. Imagine these streets being free of cars with full seating areas for cafes, safe in the knowledge that we do not have to worry about being knocked over. It would make a great attraction for tourists and locals alike and as there are roads surrounding the above streets we can be more clever with traffic. There should be no need for anyone to drive along these streets.
