Include Ovingdean on the No. 47 bus route

Residents of Ovingdean cannot get to Rottingdean or Saltdean during the week unless they can walk or drive at least a significant part of the way.

This means more cars come into these villages OR local services & traders in Rottingdean & Saltdean cannot benefit from Ovingdean residents' patronage.

Our elderly no longer have access to a Post Office in Ovingdean; they cannot get to their nearest bank, library, dentist, supermarket, butcher, baker or cafe unless they can drive or be driven.

If the 47 includes Ovingdean, primary school-aged children would be able to get to school at St Margaret's or Our Lady of Lourdes by bus, reducing the number of cars coming into Rottingdean & contributing to the traffic jams, parking problems & pollution currently experienced twice a day.

Longhill pupils living in Saltdean would be able to use the bus & relieve congestion in the Falmer Road/Longhill school junction.

The current bus service through Ovingdean only goes west, into Brighton & only serves the station at the beginning & end of each day.

The current No.57 route operating on Sundays is essentially the 47 route but includes Ovingdean, the marina, the hospital & the station every hour & we would like Brighton & Hove Bus Company to amend the service to run this timetable every day.
