This petition is being circulated seeking supporting signatures in an effort to Right My Injustice. My name is Nazario Burgos and I'm approaching 23 years of incarceration after having been wrongfully convicted and sentenced to serve a term of life imprisonment.
My story is one of many real life social injustices the current national conversation speaks to. Police perjury, concealment of evidence, prosecutorial misconduct, racial bias and, the impoverished enduring inequality is what will be found by those of you who read my story and official case records. You'll also learn about the discovery of new evidence that required a hearing to have been held, almost 4 years ago, to determine entitlement to grant of a new trial.
Bringing awareness to, and acquiring support to overcome the ongoing denial of due process and, justice due is the purpose of this petition. My goal is to gain public support based on irrefutable evidence of innocence... to further my quest for justice in this matter, and for the victim's family who are entitled closure based on truth.
With justice for all affected, it is my desire that our efforts initiate review of other cases involving the police officers associated with this matter.
Through this petition I hope to also gain support that will carry over to sponsoring of the Go Fund Me campaign in place to raise the funds necessary to hire a competent attorney to represent me.
Words alone will never describe the experience of having spent decades in prison for a crime I did not commit. Hope fueled by faith, family, friends and the good that continues to be exemplified by society is what will always drive my quest for justice. What can be expressed by words is my deepest gratitude to everyone who supports this petition....THANK YOU, and I say with sincerity... you give me hope
