Katherine Hawkins started this petition to Bridgend Council

The Zebra Crossing in Llangeinor isn't safe for pedestrians to cross, there has been a number of occasions where vehicles haven't stopped or there have been near misses where one side has stopped but the other has not. It does not help that cars park along one side of the road blocking the view for pedestrians to see what is coming and blocking the view for cars to see pedestrians waiting on one side.

Many people use this Zebra Crossing everyday, most of them being children. They use it to gain access to many amenities in the village such as the local shop, school, football club, community center, park and Allotments.

I believe that it would benefit the residents and the people passing through Llangeinor if it was changed to a Pelican Crossing, as with a Pelican Crossing it would be traffic light operated prompting cars to stop when pedestrians waiting to cross. This would mean safer journeys for the pedestrians passing through, and as a parent of 2 young children I would feel much more confident in not only my children crossing the road there but feel more confident myself.

I hope that others will come on board to strengthen this petition to further impact the council about the safety of our residents and people passing through Llangeinor.
