Bridge over former Midland railway on Bramhall Moor Lane, Hazel Grove, Stockport
Why this petition matters
Without mincing my words this is a death trap. There is pavement to the east side only, less than 1 meter in width, and it's narrowest point corresponds with a bend in the road. The bend causes many car drivers and all goods vehicles traveling north to cross the centre white line, this pushes traffic traveling south towards the pavement and in some cases to mount the pavement, this is evidenced by the wearing of the road markings,
damage to kerbstones and tire marks on the pavement.
On Thursday 15/09/22 I witnessed a rigid goods vehicle's rear 2 axles mount the pavement, had this happened a few seconds later myself and my daughter would have been in that spot and now be dead or severely
injured.
The council has the money to create a cycle lane on Dean lane, a road that although busy has wide pavements, wide lanes and is straight, funds must be made available to prevent death or serious injury to pedestrians on this stretch.
