Petition to investigate and build a 27km Bribie Island Passenger railway to reduce congestion on Bribie Island Rd and give commuters the option of a closer railway to where they live. Featuring high speed sections of line at 140kph, speeding up travel times for commuters. Reducing congestion on Bribie Island Rd for general commuters and holiday makers/visitors, providing another transport corridor to Bribie Island area. Significate travel time savings would be make some up to 44mins in one direction for commuters. Railway to feature 5 new stations at Woorim, Bongaree, Sandstone Point, West Ningi, North Harbour rejoining the north coast line just before the existing Burpengary Station. A rail option would also release the reliance on the road bridge. When emergency occurs, rail could be made free for residents to access the mainland if the road bridge was closed or damaged!
