Standing up for all Educators of the Great State of Nevada

Leaders of the Great State of Nevada, we ask you to support our profession that has been disrespected and underfunded for decades. We, Clark County School District (CCSD) educators, ask you, our local, county, and state leaders to address unfair labor practices, and inequalities in school funding that is rife throughout our education system. We ask that our leaders adhere to legal arbitration decisions that you the school board holds all educators to if the decision was reversed. We declare the right of all educators, including support staff, to be compensated fairly for their work, and treated with dignity and respect throughout this great state. Attending colleges and seminars throughout an educator's career is encouraged by the state’s educational system, and therefore costly. It is only fair we are compensated justly for our continuous dedication to our craft. We place the cause of teaching our youth a noble and honorable exercise. We respectfully demand fair and just compensation for our continuous loyalty to our schools and community. We ask that school district’s salary tables are adhered to on an annual basis and are uninterrupted due to frequent district salary freezes brought about by inadequate educational funding. We respectfully demand our schools have the necessary support systems in place with experienced teachers, and experienced guest teachers in every classroom that ensures academic success for all our students. We declare relief from retaliation by some administrators who utilizes the Nevada Educator Performance Framework (NEPF) as a means to silence the voices of teachers who have legitimate grievances. We respectfully ask for the creation of a committee that investigates illegal and unnecessary terminations. We declare the right to an adequately funded healthcare system. We ask this so as to ensure we are not financially destitute brought about by high medical costs. We declare that adequate teacher support and procedures are in place in every classroom with the support from administrators, that provide the necessary procedures and expectations of students in which valued instruction is not interrupted by constant disruptive student behavior. We declare that all teachers and students have a right to a safe and productive learning environment.
We will defend any educator that is terminated due to speaking up against injustices directed toward teachers.
We ask for these important and legitimate grievances to be addressed in a fair and impartial manner.
