On January 27th, Manitoba's vaccination priority list was released. It has been apparent, not only through the Covid-19 crisis, but in daily life that people with disabilities are not considered under the roof of the Legislature. Once again, Manitoba has failed to include people with disabilities, immune compromised and those with chronic illnesses in the vaccination roll out.

In the press conference on Wednesday, Dr. Reimer said things like “captures most” or “captures the best proportions” when talking about the age based vaccination plan to prevent severe out comes.

An aged based approach leaves many young people in these communities at risk. The government must take action to include young, high risk individuals in the priority list moving forward.

This is dangerous for the people in these communities, and will continue to harm us until a change is made. Include us, protect us, and vaccinate us.
