Ambulance fees should be the same across the country. It should be a part of universal healthcare since ambulances are only used for access to health care and in fact they also provide health care. Otherwise, people would use a taxi or an uber.
The Manitoba Government needs to redirect their priorities in terms of budgeting for access-to-healthcare costs. Lawmakers and selected interest groups get their transport fees paid for, but not, for example, people with disabilities who choose NOT to apply for social assistance, or pregnant people who DONT have union benefits. The Government needs to remind itself that not all pregnant people have the benefit of MAT-leave.
