Martin Isai simental started this petition to Governor Brian Kemp

Blue clay is a very important part of my culture especially the type found in Georgia.

Aztecs and mayans used this clay to create the color pigment known today as 'Maya Blue' it was used in ritualistic sacrifices to their rain god chaak and they did this in hopes that the god would send them rain to make corn grow.

I highly urge my fellow Native americans, Hispanics and Others to please help me protect an important piece of our rich history from gold mining. I urge Governor Brian Kemp to make a law to prevent gold mining from happening in ancient river beds containing said clay.
