Working Georgia families are trying to cope and deal with all the new and ongoing changes due to COVID-19. Many of our school systems have chosen safety for our children by going 100% online digital learning. How does this effect our middle working class? Tremendously. Coming up with money to cover before and after school care for some hasn’t been an issue while others have struggled because they didn’t quite meet the state assistance guidelines. Now add in daytime care for those children who can’t be home alone and need help and guidance with their digital learning. This is a conversation and stress in most households and plans need to be made to accommodate not only our working families but our children as well. We need funding ASAP for daytime care so that families can have a personal care taker or a facility to create a safe environment and give assistance to our children during this time. Families shouldn’t have to make the decision of quitting their job or leaving their child at home alone to not only care for themselves but to also stay on task with their education. We need funding for all of our working families and we need it now. Sign, share, make a difference. Let’s be apart of the solution not the problem, we are in this together!
