Why this petition matters

Started by Danielle Kirby

Recently, a few cities such as Atlanta and Athens tried to mandate masks to prevent further spread of the Corona Virus. They had created such mandates until Governor Brian Kemp signed an executive order stating that these local governments were not allowed to create regulations that were more or less restrictive than the state regulations including mandating masks. Mayor Keisha Lance-Bottoms has been fighting to remove these restrictions, and she needs our help to show that the people want the decision to be up to the local governments. They have been experiencing the pandemic in their community first hand and would have a better understanding as to what regulations would help decrease the spread in their area. Please show your support by signing this petition for allowing cities to choose whether or not to mandate masks in their area.
