Recently after the birth of my child I received a parking ticket due to staying over my time limit of 2 hours, after repeatedly moving my vehicle prior times. Inevitably it's a $50 "early" payment bonus.

Hospitals are a place of either great joy, or great pain for families and those moments should not be affected by the inconvenience and sometimes financial hardship of parking fines.

Eliminating fines or redirecting them to the hospital in the area affected will not only help the hospitals and lower costs, it would make many who DO receive a fine feel less taken advantage by the city's already high taxes and fees. Meanwhile it would also eliminate private companies from profiting from people celebrating a life born, or grieving a life lost.

Many people cant afford the $30 a day parking lots, or simply cant run out every two hours just to move your car if you know you will be there for hours, if not days due to unfortunate circumstances.
