Why this petition matters

Started by Cherise Phillips

As of 05/02/21 Brentwood Borough Council have closed Emporium on Warley Hill. For years Barry has donated to the homeless, the local primary schools, has helped the vulnerable through lockdown and I’m sure many residents in Brentwood can say he’s helped them including myself. One example was I was looking for scart leads to watch home videos of my Dad who passed away but Emporium didn’t sell them so Barry bought me one from home of his own back and gave it to me. Not only does he help the community, but his shop provides essentials such as toiletries, hygiene products, anti bacterial handwash, anti bacterial cleaners, which in the current time’s ARE essential. Not to mention masks are sold in the shop for the cheapest in the area and not for profit. For a lot of people by the station they can’t walk up the hill to the town so the store selling homeware is a big help. There is absolutely no need for such a helpful shop to be closed down and have a mans business closed down.

Please sign to push BBC to deem Emporium as essential and to reopen.
