The COVID-19 situation at Life School Red Oak has been worsening by the day. School has only been open for three weeks and, as of August 31, 2021, there have been 56 active cases (including myself) reported in students and staff, and many more possibly going unreported. That is almost 6% of the total campus population with no virtual learning option and no mask requirement. Our school has far surpassed  3% of the campus testing positive for COVID-19 and Phase 3 on the  "Phasing System" that is currently in place and there is no plan for the future. The Life School Administration is showing a severe lack of Ethical Leadership and we as students are concerned about our health and that of those we care about. Given the severity of COVID-19 and the rise in numerous variants, it is time to demonstrate Social Awareness and take this public health matter into our own hands. 

The following are the preferred measures that we believe Life School should take:

*Reinstate and enforce a mask mandate for all students and staff at Life School from K-12, including special programs.

We understand that Governor Abbott has placed several orders that restrict the precautions and mandates school districts can enforce. However, the safety of fellow students, staff and community members should be the top priority. We would like to see Life School Administration demonstrate Humility, and put our health and safety first.
