The Sturm Ruger & Company sells deadly weapons to the Israeli government, a serial human rights violator. The company apparently doesn’t keep track of how its guns are used by foreign military forces. It claims it sells the guns to wholesalers and after that it has no knowledge of their use. In addition, Ruger has given millions of dollars to a Far-Right gun organization. Its support of the Far-Right is a threat to our republic. Congress should investigate the Sturm Ruger company and suggest legislation to stop its practices which endanger both Palestinian civilians and U.S. democracy.

The list of Palestinian victims of Ruger is a long one. Hundreds of injuries and over 30 killings of Palestinians by Rugers can be documented. The true number of injured is probably in the thousands. The coalition NoRugers2Israel has discovered the names of many of those who were killed by Rugers or who have lost an eye or who were shot in the knee. The IDF uses the Ruger routinely to break up Palestinian demonstrations, terming them all “riots”. The IDF targets what it calls “inciters” at demonstrations. Fair-minded people would call these activists “leaders”.

Ruger has donated well over $10 million to the National Rifle Association which routinely engages in conspiracy-peddling and fear mongering against the U.S. government and liberal and socialist organizations. For years it has spread the ideas and demands that were common among the insurrectionists on January 6, 2021, in Washington, DC.

The Sturm Ruger company won’t answer complaints from the public about how its guns are used by Israel or why it gives enormous sums to the National Rifle Association. Its sales to Israel may be crimes against humanity. Its support for the NRA may be support for a future insurrection.

The Fairfield Board of Selectmen, CT state officials and Congress need to investigate.
