Teenage pregnancy is one of the problems in the Philippines. This is one of the factors why the population continues to increase and the cases of out-of-school children who choose to have sex at an early age are also declining due to poverty. According to World Health Organization (WHO) 11% of babies born are from children aged below 20. Early pregnancy and has an effect on the body of the child or woman under the right age. Usually in babies born teenage pregnant is premature. Many teen parents are nervous and frightened. Additionally, most of teens who are pregnant have little chance of finishing their schoolings. Due to financial support , they tend to prioritize the baby's needs. And worst part is, getting Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and AIDS. Teenage pregnancy can cause dieseas through sex.

The impact of teenage pregnancy on community, it is alraming because it becomes normal for young people to just get pregnant early without thinking what the consequences will be. Especially for the most vulnerable child once he is born into the world his/her parents are not ready. As time goes on and the case of teenage pregnancy increases everyone thinks that it is normal. If this case become normal more babies will suffer.

The impact on individual, Teenage pregnancy can lower or kill self-esteem. The embarassment that they can face seems unbearable. Depression, teens who are pregnant experience emotional and psychological stress are high risk during that period. Medical complications, the womb of teens are not fully develop. They are not physically prepared which is why many young mothers die when giving birth.  Numurous young parents have bad reputation to the society due to unexpected pregnancy. Young parents forced to face negative thoughts and judgemnet from their families or friends.

These are just a few of the effects of teenage pregnancy on individual  and in the society. We encourage all parents, teens to parctipate to Break the Curse of Teenage Pregnancy through attending seminars, and programs to educate the younger generation including their parents and future parents.
