In 2008, My daughter was Internationally abducted from Illinois and taken to Brazil by her mother. It took over 3 years to find and reunite with my daughter. In the last 10 years, I saw my daughter for a year total.
Brazil is part of the Hague Convention on the aspects of international parental abduction which requires countries to return children who are wrongly removed, detained and or abducted to a country and be returned back to their habitual residency were court proceedings are currently taking place.
Unfortunately, Brazil does not comply with the Hague Convention, and today my daughter still remains in Brazil.
I am now petitioning the Brazilian Central Authorities, U.S. Department of State and Brazilian Courts to allows my daughter to come to Chicago for a visit this December, 2017.
