At the beginning of what should be an exciting 2 weeks for Bray Wanderers fans leading into the play offs, we once again find ourselves staring into an uncertain future. 

Down through the years, Bray Wanderers have been exposed to various attempts to eradicate our history and to monetize the club and the town's unique identity and footballing history. This most recent talk of a merger between Cabinteely FC and Bray Wanderers FC is another example of profit taking precedence over community. 

Bray Wanderers have been a League of Ireland Club since 1985. Likewise, Cabinteely FC have been an established youth football club in their locality for decades. A merger between the two would be a slap in the face to both clubs supporters, their League of Ireland history and the communities they claim to represent. The alleged proposal to change the name of Bray Wanderers in the near future is a disgraceful attempt to erase our identity entirely.

We would appeal to the parties involved, as well as the FAI, to reconsider this action and would like to make aware that the below signatures indicate the feelings of the loyal Bray and League of Ireland fans who vehemently oppose this motion.
