Samantha L started this petition to Brantford City Council

Ban the sale of novelty "rose in a glass" products within the City limits.

Brantford faces an opioid crisis. We also have rampant stimulant drug abuse in our city. For those unaware of drug culture I have linked a forbes article below explaining the real purpose behind this product. For those already aware I ask that you sign knowing that these tubes serve no other purpose to you or anyone. Having them removed from shelves in Brantford is a step in the right direction and it is one we can easily bring to the attention of City Hall today! These glass tubes are a reminder for struggling people every time they walk into gas station or convenience store, the access to this product for illegal drug use is ridiculous under its guise of being a novelty item. Banning the sale of "rose in a glass" products won't fix our drug problems. People with addictions will not magically be helped and will find other means, but let's not insult them and ourselves by living in ignorance. Let's not insult our city by making this product readily available on counters of the stores where our children buy summer slushies. Why make access to this illegal drug and the tools one needs to use it that much easier? Please sign this petition and with your help we can ask City Council to ban the sales of "rose in a glass" tubes.
