Limit the Amount of Synchronous Periods for Remote Students at Nathaniel Hawthorne MS74
Many fully remote students at Nathaniel Hawthorne MS74 are struggling with the overwhelming amount of assignments along with live meetings. It is extremely harmful to our mental health to have us sit in a chair staring at our computer screens and listening to a teacher drone on and on for hours with many assignments to be done afterwards in a small amount of time is causing many top students' grades to drop. It is also causing eye pain and lowering our productivity. Teachers and staff are ignoring that students may be having things going on at home, and that their schedule can't be as crowded as it is currently due to the new November expansion.
I also noticed a lot of the blended children that we contacted were saying how we should not be complaining about this because they have to go to school for six hours. But this is different, because many of us remote kids are just sitting in our bedroom, sometimes still in our pajamas, feeling extremely unmotivated to actually do work when we just woke up and immediately go to our computer so we don't miss our online class. Yes, we have time to get dressed, but this doesn't give us enough time to eat a nutritious breakfast, make our beds, and it just makes us feel very unmotivated and unhappy and not ready to take on the day.
Me and many others are asking for the Synchronous period schedule to go back to the old one that was in use before November 2nd. This will be extremely helpful to students home life, physical health, and most importantly mental health. Students have time to work and study along with maintaining a good sleeping and eating schedule.
