My English bulldog Duke was nearly killed during a simple nail trim on Monday 3/20/17 due to being placed on a grooming table with a grooming lead that became a noose. His hinds legs slipped off the table and he was hanging. He was fighting so hard to get free that the grooming lead became tighter and tighter around his neck obstructing his airway. As all of us know airway obstructions are extremely dangerous for any animal but for English Bulldogs it is extremely deadly due to a medical condition called brachycephalic airway syndrome. For the last 4 days now Duke is coughing so hard he can't keep water down and I finally got him to eat some last night. The response I've gotten so far from PetCo is a simple I'm sorry this happened. Sorry doesn't excuse negligence in my eyes. Sorry doesn't make my dog feel better. Sorry doesn't protect the other animals entrusted in your care. Get rid of the noose for grooming and use harnesses. For the pets safety and for your own well being. This could have been a very bad situation but fortunately I was there to intervene. This happened at store 1578 in Clarksville, TN
