I'm signing because if we do not control foreign investment then wealthy foreign investor will be the only ones who can afford a house in the GTA. My government needs to protect the people who live and work here and make them a priority. Not foreign investors.

Tiny shit boxes are listed for $600K and sell days later to mostly foreign investors for a million bucks! How are our children supposed to buy a home a raise a family in Toronto like we did? We need to level the playing field by imposing a foreign tax in the GTA. John Tory, instead of taxing us to death here is a really good opportunity to get some tax money from people who can afford it and often get away without paying any.

I am a Canadian working in Toronto and is concern for the future as I continue to monitor the market for housing. I am constantly being told that my property of interest is bought by foreign investor or they are buying areas of the entire neighborhood. Even with my high income, the prices of a home is near impossible to buy. I want change.

I cannot afford to live in Toronto and have to commute to work everyday. I do not like the unnaturally inflated housing prices

my adult working children who have excellent jobs and pay taxes who grew up in Toronto can not buy a home in Toronto. They will not start a family. Tax foreign investment on existing homes in the GTA. They contribute nothing to Canada.

I know the market is being rigged by real estate agents. I've caught and tried to get RECO to do something but even RECO encourages the agents to do this. Joseph Richer from RECO even had the balls to write a defensive letter of what the agents do to the Toronto Star. It's organized rigging of markets. It's illegal in the stock market! You do not pay more for clothing based on how many patrons are shopping in the store on a given day! Real Estate agents always claim there are other buyers etc.. just to make you pay more (so they make more).. They are nothing more than a car salesman. Recently a car salesman in Pickering lost their license for upselling a car that should not have been more than 40K to an senior who really didn't know much about cars. She paid over 65K for a Mazda! They lost their license and was charged.

The same ideals should be applied to real estate agents..... it not then why are they the exception and have a free pass to price fix?
