Reduce speed limit on O'Connor Drive - East York, Toronto

O'Connor Drive is a hotbed for traffic accidents in Toronto (see links below) and remains one of the only residential streets in East York to have a speed limit of 50km/h. Other major residential streets (Woodbine, Coxwell, Lumsden, Cosburn) have all seen substantial speed limit reductions and lane widths being reduced. Parts of O'Connor Drive have already seen reductions in speed, but it's time for the entire street to follow suit and have a consistent speed.
We need to:
Lower the speed limit on O'Connor as a whole from 50km/h down to 40km/h.
Decrease lane widths to ensure drivers adhere to the speed limit. Even today, there are too many drivers using O'Connor as a racetrack.
Improve road conditions and resurface O'Connor. There are too many potholes and cracks and drivers swerving to avoid them.
This is important for the safety of our children and our families. There have simply been too many accidents on O'Connor. Below are some links to just a few examples, one for each recent year. Over the recent past, O'Connor has not had an accident free year.
