I feel offended that they would attempt to put blacks in film down by using black face, a fake nose, and a women with no figure. Nina Simone's story is one that needs to be told to empower black women, not bring them down.

Because there are so many BEAUTIFUL, TALENTED AND DARK African American actresses and artists that can play the BEAUTIFUL Nina Simone without wear a demeaning and disrespectful blackface and fake lips. We need to stop the whitewashing of Black American history and start loving EVERY culture and their features!

Ms. Simone's style, politics and her pain cannot be captured by this movie because the director and the lead actor are uneducated when it comes to understanding Nina Simone. Ms. Simone's appearance was an integral part of her story and a woman who does not have the political perspective and nor the confidence in her own abilities to appear without 'blackface' makeup is not the actor to portray Nina Simone. The director of this movie is inadequate to tell Nina Simone's story and should focue on what she knows, not what she thinks will gain her notoriety.

I find it appalling to use this particular actress to lighten up the legacy of one of the most amazing beautiful dark skinned black women in history

Zoe may identify as black but she is clueless as any white person about her African American History. It's unfortunate that whites continue to want to tell Black people's stories with total disregard and disrespect toward us. These are the same white folks who believe in their racial superiority and that African's were an
un-enlightened, savage people.
