Today 13/4/2022 a man from Nairobi was charged with shoplifting from a Naivas supermarket has been fined Ksh. 100,000 or a one-year jail sentence after pleading guilty before a Nairobi Court. 

Alvin Linus Chivondo was charged with shoplifting from the Naivas Supermarket along Moi Avenue. 

According to the prosecution, the 21-year-old man also stole 5 kgs of rice , honey, tea leaves, and sugar, all totaling Ksh. 3,165.

He pleaded guilty before the court. 

The court heard that he posed as a customer, picking the items from the shelves before packing them into a non-woven carrier bag. 

He was intercepted while attempting to exit the supermarket without paying. 

Alvin Linus Chivondo is accused of stealing 5kgs of rice, 5 litres of cooking oil, 2kgs of sugar and other items valued Sh3,165.
