BOYCOTT HOUSTON PRESS FOR PUBLISHING FOIE GRAS FOOD REVIEW, THE WRITER & 5 RESTAURANTS THAT SERVE IT

Recently Houston Press food contributor Joanna O'Leary wrote, "I enjoy eating foie gras and I'm not going to apologize for it. I don't believe in animal cruelty..." She proceeded to write about five Houston, Texas restaurants that serve foie gras. I am calling for a boycott of these five restaurants until they stop serving foie gras, along with irresponsible food reviewer Joanna O'Leary and the publication Houston Press for publishing such an insensitive, irresponsible article until they adopt a policy of not reviewing unconscionably cruel foie gras dishes. Uchi Restaurant, located in the most progressive part of Houston, the Montrose neighborhood, should be picketed and boycotted until the community and visitors to Houston understand that this new restaurant is serving tortured duck product. The other four restaurants named in Joanna O'Leary's vile food review are Roost, Triniti, Kata Robata, and The Burger Guys.
Foie Gras, the unnaturally and freakishly enlarged liver of a force-fed duck, is so cruel, the sale and production is completely banned in the state of California. This disgusting practice of force-feeding is also banned in U.K., Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Finland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, and Israel.
