Special Needs Kids Should Be Recognized for their Efforts

David Jr. was born with major brain damage, a condition that causes blindness, and a host of other problems. He also has cerebral palsy.

Despite all of this he is doing quite well. He joined the Cub Scouts at age 11.

At age 13, he used his First Aid training to help save someone's life. This despite not being able to see more than 7-feet with glasses!

The local Council refused to even submit him for national consideration for an award even though the Fire Department and the Church pastor nominated him.

Please tell Orange County BSA that they are wrong. David's actions would have been admirable for a healthy child. For a Special Needs child, it was newsworthy.
