Stop Wiltje Kroeger's Deportation

This Petition is on behalf of Wiltje Kroeger, a resident of Brigham City, and a Legal Permanent Resident of the United States.
Recently Wiltje, the husband of a U.S. citizen, and the father of two U.S. citizen children, was ordered deported from the United States. The deportation is based on two criminal offenses related to a small amount of methamphetamine for which he was convicted in 1997.
Now, while this behavior is unacceptable, Wiltje has not had any convictions nor any traffic related offenses since 1998. Wiltje has literally not broken any law since 1998. He successfully completed his probation with the court in Brigham City, and fully paid his fines. Wiltje and his wife have been together since 1996, and have paid their taxes faithfully every year, based on Wiltje's employment. Wiltje has never been unemployed, has not sought any government assistance, and has been a valid contributor to our society.
The reason we are looking to have you, as a resident of Box Elder County, sign this petition is because we want our Box Elder County Attorney to take action to assist Wiltje. Normally an expungement would be the normal course to pursue, but immigration does not recognize expungements because they are rehabilitative in nature. Thus, we need your support to let the Box Elder County Attorney know that we want him to take action, and assist the Kroeger family to prevent the deportation of a man who, after making a mistake many years ago, has completely changed his life around and has been a valued member of the community for many years.
Wiltje Kroeger was told by ICE that he has until mid-August to remain in the United States. Please sign and share this petition to show your support and let our Box Elder County Attorney know that he needs to take action immediately.
