Due to the fact we have all have been advised by the university to go home early for Easter in order to avoid contamination of the Coronavirus, should we still be expected to pay our April instalment? The government and universities are uncertain if lockdown will carry on past the Easter break as exams based in person have also been cancelled up until August. This may mean we will not be returning to our accommodations at all. 

Due to the fact that university accommodation is not a fixed residency, only termly, contracts can be reviewed. As I’m sure people signing this petition would agree, we have had little or no information relaid to us regarding the situation in these hard times. Due to the governments “mortgage holiday” scheme, the accommodation companies would surely be able to claim money off the government/have a break in their payments, so why can’t we?
