Move Bournemouth University Exams Online
University students have been look over time and time again from PM Boris Johnson’s COVID updates/announcements. With record breaking infection rates and hospital admissions at a high level, it was still deemed university students would go back for face to face teaching and examinations. Lack of availability of lateral flow tests and minimal regulations puts us all at risk of infection during upcoming exams. Despite emails asking for further details on how the university intends to run the exams safely and at no detriment to students these are not being adequately responded to. To be able to run exams safely Bournemouth University needs to be able to provide lateral flow tests to be take before exams, socially distance students in exams premises, sufficiently clean desks and other common items before and after each exam, ventilate the rooms and run a track and trace system since phones are not permitted during the exams. These would all need to occur with no detriment to the students which is increasing unlikely the closer exam season gets. The upcoming face to face exams simply should not occur if the safety of the students in anyway is compromised which would have to be in order to adhere to exam regulations. Avoiding the further spread of COVID through students and staff members regulating the exams should be one of Bournemouth University’s top priorities. Therefore, Bournemouth University should move their face to face exams to online to prevent the spread of COVID19, protect vulnerable students and protect the families/friends of students. I employ Bournemouth University to put the students first and make the exams as safe as they can which can only occur online.
