As reported in Bournemouth Daily Echo, The Mail, Metro and even Ladsbible a 66 year old homeless man was found dead in a sheltered carpark used by council staff and located only seconds away from the Town Hall. The contributing factor is that his sleeping bag was searched for and removed by council staff.

Clearly whatever policies Bournemouth Borough Council have in place are not enough. There is already a homeless encampment set up where homeless people seek sanctuary in tents donated by local people and businesses.
The councillors are clearly out of touch with the situation, and that is evident as according to a recent quote in the echo, councillor Robert Chapman stated "There is no need in this day and age for people to be sleeping like that. I'm quite sure the majority are not genuinely homeless." Couple of weeks later this genuinely nice, homeless 66 year old has died.
I would like an independent investigation carried out regarding this man. For the council to admit their homeless policies are not working and for this matter to be investigated to see if any charges can be made relating to Manslaughter, Corporate negligence, vicarious liability, human rights breaches etc. They should be held accountable on some level and share culpability with the homeless organisations as well.
