Given the spate of incidents this weekend on site (personally being effected ourselves by the mindless vandalism) and having noticed an increase throughout this year of incidents and antisocial behaviour throughout the park compared to other years. There seems to be a distinct lack of security presence (Whether that be through security patrols or CCTV) as a deterrent to this kind of behaviour and issues. Furthermore throughout the park there are a number of darker areas not fully covered by street lighting. As owners we pay as part of our site fees to have security on site for the prevention and deterrent of this type of behaviour, hence the continuing payment for these services during the COVID lockdown.

When owners are on the receiving end of criminal damage, the attitude of Park seems to be to claim on your caravan insurance, without any regard to the affects this has on yourselves, policy or other owners on site. Obviously Friday night was a major incident for security due to the damage and number of incidents spread across park and the rumoured number of youths involved. With the number of incidents escalating and the damage caused becoming more serious it is a cause of concern for many owners across site to if it will be their property next, given the substantial investment they have in the caravan and site itself.

The  number of security patrols into the evening seem to be reduced in comparison to other years, CCTV seems to be lacking in coverage to be useable by law enforcement. Obviously the combination of this and the darker areas of park it can lead to an increased likelihood of the incidents that have occurred.
