As of now, the class of 2020 will not be able to have a single family member at our in person graduation ceremony on October 3. As a member of the class of 2020, it is extremely upsetting to think of the many things that have been taken from us due to Covid-19: the end of our senior year, senior week, graduation and festivities, and the culmination of our undergraduate college career.

Many colleges/universities are having graduation ceremonies in person, and are allowing graduates to bring a limited number of guests. The class of 2020 is devastated that BU isn’t doing more for their students. Like other graduating classes, we have worked extremely hard at BU and we deserve to experience a graduation just like every other class has in the past (but with masks of course).

In its most recent guidance dated April 28, 2021, the Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education allow for no more than six guests per graduate, providing guests comply with all safety and health standards delineated in the guidance.

Thank you for your support!
