I’m a BPS k-12 alum, a BLS graduate and parent of a BPS student. It’s way past time to make this school system equitable. High quality education needs to be accessible to all Boston students.

I support access and excellence for all Boston students! I would like to see exams schools gone and each school as "excellent" as the exam schools with access for all children!

The process in the beforetimes was wildly inequitable and unfair. The current COVID crisis has exacerbated the inequities and requires radical rethinking of what is fair, and how the District can best invest in ensuring great educational opportunities for all. Suspend the test!

I'm signing because the exam school exam has a racist impact even in a normal year. In this covid year, where the pandemic itself and the remote learning challenges and deficits all have a racially unequal impact, it would be doubly or tripply unfair to Black and Latinx students and families to use an exam to heavily influence or determine who gets into Boston Latin and the other exam schools, rather than the proposed grades-weighted lottery system.
