Hello!

A few students have come together to create a national petition regarding the overcharging of tuition and fees as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to amplify individual petitions created surrounding this issue and also highlight a collective voice for these concerns. We hope to continue building advocacy on local, state, and federal levels.

Our petition can be found at: https://www.change.org/lowerunifeesnational

We would love if you (or anyone reading this) signed, shared, and commented to continue spreading the word! Students should not have to pay for resources and an educational experience that are non-accessible and quite limited. All the best! #LowerUniFees

This petition has been added to my linktree https://linktr.ee/LowerUniFees and if anyone who sees this could spare a few seconds to sign the other petitions and share the Linktree link, you would be helping thousands of your peers!!! thank you so much and good luck Boston College #LowerUniFees (if you would like to reach out for more info my email is olivialalicea@gmail.com)

So many families are struggling financially right now. Higher tuition for diminished experience is salt in the wound.

Hello! My name is Tyra and I am a student at the University of Maryland - College Park. So many of us students are asking our instituions for the same provisions.

Is there any way we can collaborate to gain more national traction? We can sign each other's petitions, use the hashtags #LowerUniFees #NoResourceNoFee, and more to apply pressure. We would be stronger together than apart.

My email is treed127@umd.edu. I would love to talk further and potentially start a coalition with many other students.

Our petition details can be found here:

I look forward to discussing soon!

Raising cost of attendance is absolutely absurd.

My college experience is ruined, and the least you can do is acknowledge it in the middle of a recession.

This is not the message that BC should be sending to its student’s families during this pandemic. What happened to your Covid Money BC??
Families lost their jobs, salaries reduced, families lost their businesses!

What is the huge endowment you carry for? It should be to step up and help families subsidize the less than par education/college experience during these times and not raise tuition!!!
I am appalled by the increase!! We support you why aren’t you supporting our kids and families during this time??

Instead you purchase property off campus to house kids ?
You choose to buy equipment just in case to treat and care Covid patients? I dont think that would be my choice if my student got it! They would be coming home or to a professional healthcare facility!

I just don’t understand BCs thought process through this?
I could go on!
I am saddened by BCs less than proactive measures unlike other Universities in the area and throughout the country. I believe the heads are in the sand on this one!

I'm signing because virtual learning whether on or off campus is not the whole college experience that we paid for. Also, in this era of Covid, many have lost jobs, taken pay cuts, lost raises or commissions as my family has and colleges should also be willing to take a cut and reduce tuition. Many schools have received Covid assistance in addition to having large endowments and therefore until things are better should reduce tuition. Plus it's hard to pay $72000+ knowing our children may not have internships or jobs. What is BC doing differently than colleges that are significantly less in tuition to make it worthwhile to pay one of the highest tuitions???

There is no justification for the huge raise in tuition when the university is limiting its services
