I have worked in retail for 25 years and some of the companies I have worked for were bon marche , game , our price music , etams , charity shop manager ,  pep & co , ryman stationary and Hmv.

I first started working at Hmv in Pescod square Boston 15 years ago when the shopping centre first opened and spent many years working in other retailers in Boston.

I have seen the town decline with less shoppers and we need to try to get more people into Boston town to support the high street to to get people together. I contacted Boston borough council to ask them trial car boot sales in the market place and they shut me down and said there is a law in place from 1545 that we can't have car boot sales as it may conflict market traders.  Our market is getting smaller and it wouldn't conflict if it was on a different day such as Sunday. On Boston borough council website it actually says car boot sales could go ahead but if they did affect the market then an injunction could happen. It's a small step a small idea but this could actually be good for our town and get people out on a Sunday morning and would help retailers with extra footfall. I am passionate about the high street and we need to start to fight and not just give up or blame the internet.

Please sign and let's make Boston buzzing again .
